The "Unmanned Earthwork Intelligent Construction System" has been awarded the gold medal at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, held from April 9-13, 2025.
Developed by the National Center of Technology Innovation for Digital Construction and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the system tackles key industry challenges in safety, environmental impact, and efficiency.
Its innovations include an intelligent scheduling model for multiple machines, autonomous decision-making technology for construction equipment, and a digital-twin-based cloud platform. The system has been successfully demonstrated in applications such as open-pit mining and infrastructure projects using unmanned bulldozers.
The project's achievements are supported by multiple invention patents and have been published in leading international journals including Engineering and the Journal of Field Robotics.
