National Center of Technology Innovation for Digital Construction was established in January 2022, and the Center is a national strategic scientific and technological force in support of modern urbanization in China, with the core mission of inventing and deploying new concepts and solutions related to digital construction.

To achieve the goals of digital and smart construction, our research focuses on digital design and city information modeling, smart perception and with the use of internet of things, smart construction machinery and robots, big data platforms and smart services for the construction industry. The Center’s research activities focus on software for digital construction, network technologies, hardware solutions, open R&D innovation platforms.

The Center aims to support the improvement of innovation capabilities of Chinese construction enterprises and industries to enhance their competitiveness in digital construction, to engage for synergistic cooperation, with international partners, and to play a strategic role in promoting the transformation and quality-focused development of the construction industry.

With Prof. Lieyun Ding, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as the chief scientist, the Center builds digital technology laboratories in support of modern construction of bridges, buildings, and rail transit.
