Abstract
The metro system is crucial for urban transportation networks because it significantly improves traffic flow, with tunnels playing a key role in ensuring the safety and quality of metro services. Over time, the structural performance of metro tunnels deteriorates, posing risks to the system's operational dependability. This paper highlights the importance of accurately assessing the long-term structural performance of metro tunnels for operations and maintenance (O&M) decision-making. Digital twin (DT) technology is introduced as the core of the O&M management platform for metro tunnels. This paper presents the structure of a metro tunnel DT and designs a smart metro service platform (SMSP) based on the DT to enhance long-term structural performance through data collection, early warning, and maintenance management. The deployment of SMSP in a metro project and its effect on the long-term evolution of tunnel structural performance are examined.
