The Construction Industry Internet Lab is a collaborative initiative between NCTI-DC and China Construction Industrial Engineering Research Academy Co., Ltd. (CIERA). Led by Mr. Gang HUANG, the executive director of CIERA and chief expert of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), the lab aims todevelopa comprehensive service platform for the construction industry value chain. This platform will bridge the gap between scientific research and practical applications of construction Internet technologies, driving the digital transformation of the construction sector.
The lab attempts to implement the concept of "data flow-driven material flow" to address the challenges of integrating all disciplines throughout the project lifecycle. Through specialized research on construction Internet technologies, the lab will enhance various aspects of construction production, optimize resource allocation, and foster stronger production relationships by connecting all industrial sectors.During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the lab aims to serve over 2,000 projects, 500 enterprises, and 10 million industrial workers. This initiative will effectively improve the technical innovation capability of digital construction, supporting the high-quality and sustainable development of the construction industry.
The main tasks of the lab include:
(1) Considering the whole construction process and all participants, the lab will accumulate industrial big data and establish the big data foundation through the digitalization and information connection of the industry value chain.
(2) Responding to the market demands, the lab will establish an industrial credit system based on industrial big data.
(3) The lab will integrate high-quality resources across the industry, promoting a more standardized and normalized industry.
Focusing on the five major production elements—human, machine, material, method, and environment—throughout the construction process, the lab will develop five specific platforms,including“industrial worker information platform”, “IOT management platform for constructionmachinery”, “traceability management platform for construction material”, “construction knowledge platform” and “cloud-based management platform for smart construction site”. Together, these platforms will form the largest and most comprehensive construction industry Internet platform in China.
