The Smart Prefabricated Building Construction Lab is a collaborative initiative between NCTI-DC and China Construction Science and Industry Corporation Ltd (CCSIC). Led by Mr.Xu Kun, the Chief Engineer of CCSIC, the lab is dedicated to advancing the national strategy in the prefabricated constructionsector.
The lab focuses on the design,f abrication, assembly, and operation of prefabricated buildings, providing comprehensive solutions that encompass digital design, factory prefabrication, visualized transportation, and industrialized assembly. This approach aims to enhance construction quality, promote industrialization through technological innovation, reform production methods, and support the sustainable development of the prefabricated construction industry.
The main tasks of the lab include:
(1) Formulating standards for prefabricated building design, fabrication, assembly, and other aspects to lead industry upgrading.
(2) Upgrading steel structure production lines, equipment, and information systems to promote smart fabrication.
(3) Developing equipment and management systems for the entire construction process.
(4) Establishing a comprehensive service platform for prefabricated construction, and creating an industry internet platform based on big data and artificial intelligence.
The lab will conduct research on key technologies for smart design, manufacturing, construction, and decision aids, create an innovative technology source for managing the entire industry chain, and establish technology hubs for prefabricated construction.
