The Smart Large Shield Tunneling Construction Lab is a collaborative initiative between NCTI-DC and China Railway 11th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. Led by Mr. Han ZHOU, the Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of China Railway 11th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., the lab aims to tackle three main challenges in large-scale shield tunnel construction: difficulty in information perception, difficulty in equipment adaptation, and difficulty in operation control.
The main tasks of the lab include:
(1) Promotingless manned and unmanned construction models for shield tunnels.
(2) Developingsystematic equipment manufacturing/retrofitting technologies.
(3) Achieving multidimensional information perception, comprehensive strata adaptation, and precise construction control in large shield tunneling construction.
(4) Creating a demonstrativeshieldtunnelingproject that integrates advanced equipment and smart construction processes throughout all stages.
The lab willdevelop a comprehensive range of smart construction technologies and core equipment for large-diameter shield tunnels. This includes adaptive equipment for long tunnels in complex strata and minimally disruptive equipment for rail transit tunnels, leading the high-quality development of the shield tunneling industry.
